General Plumbing Works:


Beachside Plumbing Services Pty Ltd is a member of the Master Plumbers and Mechanical Services Association of Australia (MPMSAA). All works carried out by Beachside Plumbing Services are conducted as per the MPMSAA Code of Ethics. Contained within these Terms and Conditions Beachside Plumbing Services Pty Ltd will be referred to as the “Contractor” and the customer receiving the goods and services as the “Client”

Certificate of Compliance:

The Contractor will issue a Plumbing Industry Commission Plumbing Certificate of Compliance for the following plumbing works:

  • Where the total value of plumbing work, including appliances, material and labour has the value of $750.00 or more
  • Where type A gas installation is undertaken
  • Where the construction, installation or alteration of any below ground sanitary drain or associated gully is to be undertaken.
  • Plumbing Certificates of Compliance will be lodged with the Plumbing Industry Commission within 5 working days, of completion of works.

Scope / Extent of Plumbing Works:

The Contractor will provide the Client with a quotation of works, either in writing or verbally, outlining all costs associated with the required plumbing works. The price will outline all works to be undertaken and will also outline any possible works that may not be able to be quoted.

General Plumbing Works:

  • All materials supplied by Beachside Plumbing Services Pty Ltd remain their property until full payment is received.
  • Work can commence as soon as written order is received.
  • Latent conditions apply.
  • Prices do not include any electrical connections or works, unless otherwise stated.
  • All prices are as per plans supplied.
  • All plumbing works are carried out as per Australian Standards and guaranteed for six years.
  • Quotation shall remain valid for 30 days unless otherwise notified.
  • The commencement of work shall be a date, which is agreeable to both the client and contractor.
  • The reinstatement of the driveways, footpaths, court paving, gardens & lawn has not been included in the quotation, unless specified.
  • All works quoted are to be carried out during Normal Business Hours

Drainage Works:

  • This contract makes no provision for the removal of tree roots, rock, reef materials and or ground water that may be encountered during excavations. The excavation/ removal of all rock, reef material and ground water may incur an additional charge, to be calculated on the basis of separately measured rock, reef material and ground water.
  • This Contract makes no provision for the removal of excess soil from excavations and the cartage costs of the same from the job address to the nearest place of disposal, this will incur an additional charge to be calculated by the Contractor.
  • Payment for excavation or removal of rock, reef material and ground water shall be made within 7 days of dated tax invoice.
  • The Client acknowledges that pipes affected by root growth and or blockages are generally damaged as a result of such interference. The removal of root growth and / or blockages alone carries no warranty that similar problems will not recur unless permanent repairs are made to the affected pipework.

Maintenance of Drains:

  • Clearing of blocked drains and inspection of blocked and damaged drains is conducted at the risk of the Client.
  • Contractor will not be held responsible for the location or condition of existing drainage systems, nor the products or materials located within the drainage systems.
  • Investigation and maintenance of drains involves insertion of specialised drainage equipment into existing drains, in order to conduct works or investigations.
  • Client accepts responsibility for any damage caused to the plumbing drainage system that maybe caused while maintenance works to drainage system is conducted.
  • Any damage caused to plumbing drainage equipment, caused through investigation or maintenance of the drainage system will be the responsibility of the Client.
  • Recovery of equipment lost or lodged within the drainage system will be at the expense of the Client.
  • The Client acknowledges that pipes affected by root growth and or blockages are generally damaged as a result of such interference. Bathroom Renovations:

  • Where prime cost items and / or provisional sums have been included in the Contract Price and a greater amount is spent than the allowance, the Client shall pay the difference to the Contractor within 7 days of dated tax invoice.
  • Where the Contractor is required to supply and install tiles to existing situations, the nearest matching colour and size tile will be supplied, to match existing tiles at the Clients site / premises. Variations to colour and size may occur.
  • All electrical works are quoted subject to Clients property being compliant with Australian Standards at time of works. Any additional works to make electrical installations compliant will be charged in addition to the quoted Contract price. All works will be carried out, will be completed by a qualified Electrical Contractor and Certificate of Electrical Safety issued on all works applicable.

Gas Appliance Installations:

  • Gas appliance quotations are quoted on a straight changeover basis only.
  • There is no provision included in quotation for upgrading or altering existing components connected to gas appliances, unless specified in the quotation.
  • Improvements, alterations or redesign of existing plumbing and infrastructure including gas fitting lines, duct work or flue pipes are additional to any direct replacement quotation.

Gas Safety Checks:

Gas Safety Check Includes:

  • Inspect property including all gas fitting line and gas appliances for compliance.
  • Pressure test gas fitting lines with appliances connected to ensure no leaks.
  • Inspect all gas appliances to ensure they are installed compliantly.
  • Complete Gas Safety Check List and provide copy to Rental Provider.

Gas Appliance Servicing Includes: (All gas appliances must be serviced within the property)

  • Inspect appliance to ensure appliance is installed in accordance with AS/NZS5601.1
  • Service and clean gas appliance.
  • Inspect heat exchanger for integrity.
  • Complete Carbon Monoxide Testing and Negative Pressure test of operating appliances.
  • Complete Gas Servicing Record and provide copy to the Victorian Building Authority.

Cost of Gas Safety Check $275.00 inc gst including Service of 1st Appliance

Gas Appliance Servicing $200.00 inc gst additional cost for 2 or more appliances

Additional Repair Budget: Client agrees to repair budget of up $250.00 inc gst in addition to above Safety Check and Appliance Servicing. Pre-Approved Repair budget to provide immediate repair or replacement of non-compliant or faulty items located during the inspection works.

Client Obligations:

All reasonable location of below ground pipes and services will be conducted by Beachside Plumbing Services Pty Ltd

  • Customer is responsible to supply a detailed plan to Beachside Plumbing Services Pty Ltd outlining service locations, to avoid damage to services during excavation.
  • Any pipes and services damaged during excavation will incur repair at customer’s expense.
  • The client shall provide scaffolding and / or safe work access equipment unless otherwise specified in the contract.

Supply of Materials:

  • Where any fixtures, fittings, materials and / or access equipment are supplied by the Client, they will be stored, handled and installed at the risk of the Client.
  • All materials removed from the Clients site / premises shall be deemed to be the property of the Contractor unless the Contractor is otherwise notified by the Client.

Terms of Payment:

Deposit of acceptance of quotation   70% of quoted works inc gst
Balance due on completion of works 30% balance of all works inc gst
Payment Terms – General Customers Payment on completion
Payment Terms – Account Customers 30 days from invoice date

Overdue Account Charges:

  • Beachside Plumbing Services reserves the right to charge late payment fees of 3% per month for total invoice cost for unpaid invoices exceeding 30 days payment terms.
  • An Administration fee for late payments of $15.00 per month will be applied to all overdue accounts.
  • Beachside Plumbing Services Pty Ltd reserves the right to list the names of companies or individuals with Vero Credit Reference Services and details may affect future credit ratings of the client, for accounts exceeding Beachside Plumbing Services Pty Ltd payment terms.

Business Hours:

Monday – Friday Normal Business Hours 8.00 am – 5.00 pm (Public Holidays excluded)
After Hours All other times.

Warranty:

  • Beachside Plumbing Services Pty Ltd warranty and certify all plumbing works complies in all respects with the plumbing laws as defined in Part 12A of the Building Act 1993.
  • All work subject to a Compliance Certificate carries insurance to protect the consumer against defective plumbing work of the plumbing practitioner. All plumbing works carried out by Beachside Plumbing Services Pty Ltd are guaranteed for a period of six years from date of tax invoice.
  • Products and materials supplied by Beachside Plumbing Services Pty Ltd will be covered by manufacturer’s warranty conditions, as provided by the manufacturer. Beachside Plumbing does not accept any responsibility for faulty products or materials.
  • All warranty claims should be reported to Beachside Plumbing Services immediately and will only be accepted as warranty rectification works, once a site inspection has been completed, to determine eligibility.
  • Site visits to non – eligible claims, maybe charged as a service call.

Warranty inspections and repairs only valid during “Normal Business Hours” or next available business day.
